CHELSEA FLOP ANDRE VILLAS BOAS TAKES OVER AS NEW TOTTENHAM MANAGER.

Thirty four year old former Chelsea manager, Andre Villas-Boas has reportedly signed a three year contract with Tottenham football club. You will recall that the young coach who did a League and Europa cup double with FC Porto was sacked by Billionaire owner of Chelsea Football Club, Roman Abrahamovich after a string of woeful performances which saw the club slip into an unprecedented position in the Barclays English Premiership competition last season.

AVB takes over from Harry Redknapp at the White Hart Lane who fell out with Tottenham Chairman David Levy. He had emerged as an outstanding candidate in the selection process which has lasted more than three weeks prompting Levy to discard the idea of negotiating with former French national team coach, Laurent Blanc who had been touted as a possible replacement following his impressive run with France and his voluntary resignation after their Euro 2012 ouster.

Villas-Boas will seek to convince Croatian midfield genius Luka Modric remain at the London club when the players assemble for the pre-season training following reports that Real Madrid have tempted him with a £35 million move away from London to the Santiago Bernabeu. Better still, he will look to negotiate Gonzalo Higuain in the deal if the diminutive Croatian chooses to move on having never hidden his affection for the Argentine striker. Already, Tottenham has almost won the race to sign on Danish midfielder, Gyfil Sigurdsson from Hoffenheim for £8 million with the player having agreed to personal terms and even completed his medicals. Ajax captain Jan vertonghen and Chelsea's Daniel Sturridge are also said to be on the club's wish list.

It will be interesting what the former Porto and Chelsea coach will be able to achieve in White Hart Lane next season as he will be eager to prove his worth with this second coming.
