"BALOTELLI DESERVES LOTS OF SLAPS," SET TO BECOME A FATHER!

Remember him? Yes! Mario Balotelli is in the news again. Swindon Town Coach and former Italian player Paolo Di Canio has stated emphatically that, "Mario Balotelli is selfish" and, "He deserves a lot of slaps."  "Against Germany he did two good things [by scoring both goals], but in the end I saw a player who was just waiting to celebrate [at the final whistle]. Balotelli does not play for the team, only for himself. "He is an egotist, who thinks the world revolves around him. For guys like Balotelli, he deserves lots of slaps rather than pats on the shoulder from Prandelli because he is young."

The 43 year old coach further went on to heap accolades on fellow strike partner, Antonio Cassano hailing him as a key member of the Italian team that made it to the finals of the UEFA EURO 2012 competition that was decided last sunday.

It was reported that Balotelli stormed off the pitch after the final whistle of the match on sunday and appeared to push aside a senior official in the process, he did return later for the award ceremony but soon broke down in tears in the middle of the pitch. Finally, in the dressing room his ugly side came to the fore when he clashed with members of Italy backroom staff together with Goalkeeper and captain Gianluigi Buffon when he blamed all the Azzurri's Juventus players for the loss to Spain.

Italy coach, Cesare Prandelli says his player will emerge stronger from the shattering experience. "I told Mario that these are experiences you have to deal with and have to accept", said Cesare. "You have to hold your hands up and say your opponents were better, accept defeat.

Meanwhile, the volatile player is set to become a father as his estranged girlfriend,Raffaella Fico claims to be pregnant with his child. She is said to have informed the player in their training camp a day before the semi-final match against Germany and that he was ecstatic about the news. The next day he scored a brace to send Italy through to the finals. While I wish him well on his new found status, let's just hope he will be matured e nough for the role ahead of him. Besides, Balotelli's prodigy,I wonder what his character will be?
