ADEBAYOR BIDS MANCHESTER CITY BYE BYE, SEALS PERMANENT MOVE TO TOTTENHAM.
With 17 goals in 33 games for Tottenham last season, Togolese and former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor is said to have completed a permanent move to White Hart Lane after Manchester City agreed a fee for the African star who was frozen out of the Eastlands squad alongside Nigeria's Nedum Onuoha two seasons ago.
New Tottenham coach Andres Villas-Boaz has been busy in the transfer market trying to fortify his team in order to charge for the title come August when the English Barclays Premiership resumes. Yesterday the former Chelsea boss admitted "It would be a lie if I tell you we are not looking for a striker." And he went on to add, “And of course Ade is part of that list. We are extremely willing to have Adebayor on board with us." Already the club has signed players like Belgium international Jan Vertonghen and Iceland midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson while hoping to add Porto midfielder Joao Moutinho if Luka Modric makes his much expected switch to Real Madrid.
Adebayor is expected to take a reduction from his £170,000 per week wage in Eastlands but it may be compensated for by a sign on fee. The final pay packet is said to be in the region of £100,000 per week and the deal may be finalised this weekend subject to Adebayor agreeing on personal terms. Here's hoping the African will repay Tottenham with stellar performances like last year now that he has made his move to White Hart Lane permanent. Only time will tell.
